Yoota X privacy policy

Yoota X is a social media platform that allows you to share short videos, publish whispers (video, audio, text), and chat with friends. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data and explaining how it is processed.

We collect information you provide directly to create your account, manage your profile, and share content, such as your name, email address, profile picture, the videos and whispers you publish, and the messages you exchange.

We also collect certain information automatically when you use the app to ensure security and improve the service, such as device type, OS version, and your interactions with videos and posts.

You may create an account or sign in with Google. When you choose this option, Yoota X receives the basic information you authorize, such as your display name, email address, profile image, or account identifier when available. We use this information to create and identify your Yoota X account and display your profile. We do not use it for advertising, sell it, or share it with data brokers.

Google sign-in does not give Yoota X access to Gmail messages, contacts, Drive files, or other private data that is not required for the feature.

If you choose to link a YouTube channel, Yoota X requests the following read-only permission:

https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.readonly

This permission is used to read the channel selected by the user, display its channel identifier, title, URL, and limited public metadata, and read the public uploads list and basic video metadata such as video ID, title, description, thumbnail, and publication date. Yoota X uses this data to link the channel to the user profile and synchronize public videos inside Yoota X while preventing the same video from being imported more than once.

Yoota X does not upload, edit, or delete YouTube videos, and it does not read YouTube messages, Gmail data, or other Google data through this permission. Channel and video data is used only to provide the linking and synchronization feature inside the app. Imported public videos may appear according to the user’s Yoota X profile and content settings.

The app uses a temporary access token to make the required YouTube requests and does not need to retain it after those requests are completed. You can unlink the channel in the app or revoke Yoota X from your Google Account permissions page.

Yoota X does not sell your personal data, use Google data for advertising or AI model training, or share it with third parties for purposes unrelated to providing the feature. We may rely on technical service providers to process data on our behalf and only as needed to operate the service:

When you publish a video, whisper, image, or message, the file and related metadata are processed to provide publishing, viewing, and synchronization features. Users control the available visibility settings in the app, and public content may be viewed by Yoota X users according to those settings.

We do not ask for Google or YouTube passwords, the user’s private API keys, or permission to send content to YouTube.

We use encrypted connections, Firebase Authentication, restricted Firestore access rules, email verification for accounts that rely on it, App Check where available, and short-lived, object-scoped upload URLs for Cloudflare R2 media. We review permissions and aim to collect only what is necessary for each feature.

No method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure. If we identify an incident affecting user data, we will investigate it and provide notices required by applicable law.

We retain account data and content only as long as needed to operate the account and requested features or to meet legal obligations. You can unlink YouTube and delete content in the app, and you can request deletion of your account and associated data through the app settings or by email. After an accepted deletion request, we remove data from active systems; limited backup copies may remain for a short technical period until they are rotated out.

We may retain limited records when necessary to prevent fraud or abuse or protect rights, and delete them when that need ends.

You can review and edit your profile data, unlink a YouTube channel, revoke Google permissions from your account, disable notifications in the app settings, delete content, or request account deletion. We may need to verify account ownership before fulfilling access or deletion requests to protect users.
